Conopidae

Les Conopidae sont des "mouches" remarquables par leur forme .. surtout celle de l'abdomen qui se tient replié sous lui-même.

Conopidae are remarkable "flies" by their shape ... especially that of the belly which is held folded up under itself.

Ce sont des endoparasites d'hymnoptères. Les oeufs sont pondus sur la toison de l'hyménoptère (souvent pendant le vol) et s'ancre à l'insecte cible. La larve se développera à l'intérieur de l'abdomen de l'hyménoptère, qui finira desséché lorsque la  "mouche" adulte sortira (la nymphose s'effectue, chose rare, dans l'insecte cible).

They are endoparasites of Hymnoptera. Eggs are laid on the fleece of the hymenopteran (often during the flight) and anchors in the target insect. The larva will develop inside the belly of the hymenopteran, which will finish dried out when the grown-up "fly" will go out (the pupation is made, rare thing, in the target insect).

 

Sur ces photos, les individus présentant une face jaune sont des Sicus ferrugineus. Pour ceux ayant la face blanche il reste un doute ... Peut être des Myopa sp mais vraiment pas sûr ...

On these photos, the individuals presenting a yellow face are Sicus ferrugineus. For those having a white face there is a doubt... Can be Myopa sp but really not sure...
