 Ce matin nous avons été faire un tour pour faire le point sur la présence des orchidées sauvages. Bonne nouvelles en ce qui concerne l'orchis bouc (Himantoglossum hircinum) elle est très présente :) Cela nous promet de belles floraisons.

This morning we went for a walk to checkon wild orchids. Good news regarding the lizard orchid (Himantoglossum hircinum) it is very present :) It promises us beautiful blooms.

Orchidées 2020: Neottia ovata

Bien que très grande et très commune chez nous, la grande listère (Neottia ovata) reste une orchidée très discrète. Elle aime les bois clairs et les paturages humides. Très riche en pollen elle atire de nombreux insectes. Lorsque ces derniers se pose sur le labelle, un liquide visqueux colle le pollen au corps des insectes permettant un transport efficace. Elle aussi se nourrit en association avec un grand nombre de champignons.

Although very large and very common here, the common twayblade (Neottia ovata) remains a very discreet orchid. She likes sunny woods and wet pastures. Very rich in pollen it attracts many insects. When they land on the lip, a viscous liquid sticks the pollen to the body of insects allowing efficient transport. It also feeds in association with a large number of fungi.

Orchidées 2020: Neottia nidus-avis

La neottie nid d'oiseau (Neottia nidus-avis) est une plante holosaprophyte qui contient peu de chlorophylle (ou de précurseurs de celle-ci). On peut mettre la chlorophylle en évidence en chauffant la fleur à la flamme d'un briquet. Les saprophytes sont des organismes qui utilisent des déchets, de la matière en décomposition pour obtenir leur nourriture. Contrairement à ce que l'on peut voir ici et là, la neottie nid d'oiseau n'est pas un "parasite". Elle s'associe en général avec un champignon qui vit en symbiose avec un feuillu.

The bird's nest orchid (Neottia nidus-avis) is a holosaprophyte plant that contains little chlorophyll (or its precursors). We can highlight chlorophyll by heating the flower with the flame of a lighter. Saprophytes are organisms that use waste, decaying matter to get their food. Contrary to what one can see here and there, the nesting bird nest is not a "parasite". It is generally associated with a fungus which lives in symbiosis with a leafy tree.

Orchidées 2020: Orchis mascula

Le confinement nous a fait rater la floraison des orchis mâles (Orchis mascula) mais nous en avons vu quand même quelques unes. En voici une en fin de floraison.

The confinement made us miss the flowering of the male orchis (Orchis mascula) but we saw some of them anyway. Here is one at the end of flowering.

Orchidées 2020: Platanthera bifolia

  

Cette jolie orchidée sauvage toute en simplicité, l'orchis à deux feuilles (Platanthera bifolia) est une de nos principales orchidées dans le coin.

This pretty wild orchid all in simplicity, the two-leaf orchid (Platanthera bifolia) is one of our main orchids in the area.

Sur la photo du dessus on voit bien les loges polliniques parallèles en fait de façon certaine une Platanthera bifolia. Sur certaines photos de cette page, il me semble que les loges polliniques sont divergentes. On peut donc avoir soit un hybride bifoliaxchlorantha, soit des Platanthera chlorantha.

In the photo above we can clearly see the parallel pollen lodges, in fact, a Platanthera bifolia. On some photos on this page, it seems to me that the pollen lodges are divergent. We can therefore have either a bifoliaxchlorantha hybrid or Platanthera chlorantha

L'orchis à deux feuilles (Platanthera bifolia) est l'une des orchidées la plus commune de notre coin avec l'orchis mâle (Orchis mascula) et l'orchis pyramidal (Anacamptis pyramidal) 

The lesser butterfly-orchid (Platanthera bifolia) is one of the most common orchids in our area with the early purple orchid (Orchis mascula) and the pyramidal orchid (Anacamptis pyramidal).
