La Néottie nid d'oiseau (Neottia nidus avis) est une orchidée pâlotte. Sans chlorophylle, elle se doit de trouver sa pitance d'une autre façon. Pour cela elle s'associe à un arbre et plus spécifiquement à un hêtre (Fagus sp), association qui se fait par l'entremise d'un champignon qui relie les deux systèmes racinaires sans que l'orchidée n'ait d'autre contact avec l'arbre.
The bird's nest orchid (Neottia nidus-avis) is a pale orchid. Without chlorophyll, it finds another way to find its sustenance. To do this, it joins to a tree and more specifically to a beech (Fagus sp), association which is made by the intervention of a mushroom which connects both roots systems without the orchid has other contact with the tree.
