L'éristale des fleurs (Myathropa florea) aussi appelé syrphe tête de mort est facilement reconnaissable au logo de batman figurant sur son thorax.
C'est un syrphe dont les larves (vers à queue-de-rat) se développent dans les cavités d'eau stagnantes des arbres. Elles en purifient l'eau en mangeant les détritus, les adultes eux sont floricoles.
The batman hoverfly ( Myathropa Florea) is easily recognizable in the logo of batman appearing on its thorax. It is a hoverfly, larvas of which (called rat-tail) develop in the stagnant cavities of water of trees. They cleanse the water by eating the garbage, the adults eat pollen.
