La carline commune (Carlina vulgaris) ressemble à un chardon séché. Asteraceae qui fleurit de juillet à septembre, elle serait celle qui a permis à Charles Quint de soigner la peste alors que pour d'autres c'est sa cousine acaule qui aurait permis la même chose à Charlemagne.
C'est une plante qui peut se consommer comme l'artichaut une fois les "épines" extérieures enlevées.
The carline thistle (Carlina vulgaris) looks like a dried thistle. Asteraceae which blooms from July till September, it may be the one who allowed Charles the Fifth to look after the plague while for others it's its acaule cousin who would have allowed the same thing for Charlemagne.
It's the plant which is edible as the artichoke once the removed the outside "thorns".
