Le crache sang doit son nom à sa capacité d'excréter son hémolymphe au niveau des articulations ou de la bouche lorsqu'il a peur.

The name of bloody nosed beetle is due to its capacity to excrete a bright red fluid at the level of the joints or of the mouth when he is afraid.

Il fait le mort et crache son hémolymphe nauséabonde pour se protéger en faisant fuir son agresseur.

He play dead and spits its nauseous fluid to protect itself by making his aggressor run away .
