Agelenidae à l'affut à la sortie de son tunnel. Les toiles sont en sortie plate avec un tunnel où l'araignée, bien cachée, attend les proies qui auraient l'imprudence de venir sur le devant de la toile.

Dans l'entonnoir * In the tunnel

Agelena labyrinthica est une grande araignée (plus de 3 cm) qui tisse une toile plane qui mène à un tunnel dans lequel elle se tient à l'affût. Dès qu'un insecte se pose sur la toile elle se précipite dessus, le mord puis l'entraine dans sa cachette. 

Lors de la reproduction, le mâle pour éviter de passer pour une proie, tapote de façon régulière la toile. 

petit détail: bien que réputée agressive, la femelle qui souvent mange le mâle, est une mère pleine d'attention. Elle garde le cocon près d'elle tout l'automne-hiver et les petits une fois éclos partagent un temps sa toile avant de partir mais ils n'hésiteront pas à la manger si elle vient à mourir.

Agelena labyrinthica is a big spider (more than 3 cms) who weaves a flat web which leads to a tunnel in which it is lying waiting. As soon as an insect settles on the web, it rushes above, bites it and then takes it in its hiding place.

During the reproduction, the male to avoid being mistaken as a prey, taps in a regular way on the web.

Small detail: although considered aggressive, the female which often eats the male, is a careful mother. It keeps the cocoon near itself all the autumn and winter and youngs once hatched share for a time its web before leaving but they will not hesitate to eat it if it comes to die.
