The dove pincushion (Scabiosa colombaria) is sometimes difficult to differentiate from the bluebutton (Knautia arvensis). In the pincushions the flowers are tubular (the outside larger than the central ones) and especially the calyx is prolonged by blackish "hairs". Once you've learned it, it's much easier.
