Velcro

Les bardanes (Arctium sp) sont des plantes bisannuelles. La première année l'appareil végétatif croît, la seconde année après une phase de repos pendant la saison froide, elle fleurit puis meurt. 

Le fruit se disperse en s'accrochant aux fourrures des animaux qui s'en approchent. Ce fut d'ailleurs l'origine de la création du Velcro

Elles font partie des légumes anciens, sa racine a un goût proche de l'artichaut. 

Burdocks (Arctium sp) are biennial plants. First year the vegetative device grows, second year after a phase of rest during the cold season, it blooms then dies.

The fruit scatters by hanging on to the furs of the animals which approach it. It was moreover the origin of the creation of Velcro

They are an old vegetables, its root has a taste close to the artichoke.

Berce commune * Common hogweed

   

La berce commune (Heracleum sphondylium) porte bien son nom. On la croise un peu partout en bois clair, bord de chemin, prairie. C'est une plante médicinale et comestible. Attention toutefois: il y a tellement d'Apiaceae toxique qu'il vaut mieux être sûr de soi avant de tenter d'en consommer.

Autre problématique: la berce contient de la furocoumarine, substance photo-sensibilisante causant des réactions allergiques augmentées par le soleil. 

Personnellement je vous déconseille son utilisation ;)

   

Common hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium) is really common. We meet it almost everywhere wooden clear, edge of path, meadow. It is a medicinal and edible plant. However be very careful: there is so many toxic Apiaceae that it is better to be self-assured before trying to consume it.

Other problèmatique: it contains furanocoumarins, a phototoxic substance causing allergic reactions increased by the sun.

Le pissenlit est utilisé comme plante médicinale depuis très longtemps. Il a des effets positifs sur le système digestif et biliaire. Diurétique, il peut traiter l'hypertension artérielle, l'insuffisance cardiaque ...

Et bien sûr ses feuilles se mangent en salade ;)

The dandelion is used as medicinal plant for a very long time. He has positive effects on the digestive and biliary system. Diuretic, he can handle the arterial high blood pressure, the cardiac insufficiency ...

And of course his leaves are eatable in salad ;)

Asperge des bois * Spiked star of Bethlehem

L'Ornithogale des Pyrénées plus simplement appelé asperge des bois (Loncomelos pyrenaicus anciennement Ornithogalum pyrenaicum) est, certes comestible mais, elle a aussi la particularité d'attirer lorsqu'elle est en fleur, les insectes.

The spiked star of Bethlehem more simply called wild asparagus (Loncomelos pyrenaicus before it was called Ornithogalum pyrenaicum) is, certainly edible but, it also has the peculiarity to attract when in flower, insects.
