 L'orchis à deux feuilles (Platanthera bifolia) est en général, ici, la plus abondante de nos orchidées sauvages avec l'orchis mâle (Orchis mascula). Cette année, elle a un début timide. Sa saison de floraison s'étend de mai à juillet donc on a encore le temps d'en voir fleurir, mais le début est très discret. Il a sans doute fait trop froid en avril pour elles.

Il existe deux Plantanthera qui se distingue par la position des anthères et l'éperon.

 bifolia: anthères parallèles et éperon long et courbé vers le sol

chlorantha: anthères écartées et divergentes et éperon horizontal

The two-leaved orchid (Platanthera bifolia) is generally the most abundant of our wild orchids here, along with the male orchid (Orchis mascula). This year, it has a shy start. Its flowering season extends from May to July so there is still time to see it bloom, but the beginning is very discreet. It was probably too cold in April for them. 

 There are two Plantanthera which are distinguished by the position of the anthers and the spur. 

 bifolia: anthers parallel and spur long and curved towards the ground  

chlorantha: spread and divergent anthers and horizontal spur

Orchidées 2020

Petit point sur les floraisons d'orchidées sauvages. Hier je vous ai montré les céphalanthères de Damas. Vous ne verrez sans doute pas les orchis mâles (Orchis mascula). Elles sont fleuries mais lundi il tombait des cordes et, du coup, pas de photos. J'ai choisi jeudi de visiter un coin pluri-espèces car la fatigue (je dois aller travailler à pied ce qui me fait presque une heure de marche supplémentaire tous les jours) ne me permettais pas de faire plusieurs endroits.

Small point on the flowering of wild orchids. Yesterday I showed you the Damascus cephalanthers. You will probably not see the male orchis (Orchis mascula). They are in bloom but on Monday it was raining cats and dogs so no photos. I chose Thursday to visit a multi-species corner because fatigue (I have to go to work on foot which makes me almost an hour of extra walking every day) did not allow me to do several places.

Les grandes listères (Neottia ovata) sont prêtes.

Common Twayblade (Neottia ovata) are ready.

Les épipactis en feuilles.

Helleborine make their leaves.

Et les platanthères à deux feuilles (Platanthera bifolia) feront bientôt paraitre leurs blanches fleurs.

And the lesser butterfly orchid (Platanthera bifolia) will soon make their white flowers appear.

Les orchis boucs (Himantoglossum hircinum) feront l'objet d'un prochain article.

L'orchis à deux feuilles (Platanthera bifolia) est l'une des orchidées la plus commune de notre coin avec l'orchis mâle (Orchis mascula) et l'orchis pyramidal (Anacamptis pyramidal) 

The lesser butterfly-orchid (Platanthera bifolia) is one of the most common orchids in our area with the early purple orchid (Orchis mascula) and the pyramidal orchid (Anacamptis pyramidal).

j'ai enfin réussi à en trouver une !!

L'orchis à deux feuilles (Platanthera bifolia) se fait désirer cette année alors que d'habitude c'est une des orchidées les plus nombreuses du coin.

Espérons qu'il y en aura d'autres.

The butterfly orchid (Platanthera bifolia) play hard to get this year while usually it's one of the most numerous orchids of the place.

La platanthère à deux feuilles (Platanthera bifolia) est avec les pyramidalis (Anacamptis pyramidalis) une des orchidées du coin que l'on toruve en plus grande quantité. Situées dans des zones où il y a peu de chemin, elles ne finissent heureusement pas en bouquet contrairement aux orchis mâles (Orchis mascula)  des environs.

 

 

The butterfly orchid (Platanthera bifolia) is with pyramidalis (Anacamptis pyramidalis) one of the orchids of the area witch we find in bigger quantity. Situated in zones where there is no path, they do not fortunately end in bouquet contrary to the male orchis (Orchis mascula) of the neighborhood.

Orchis à deux feuilles * Lesser Butterfly-orchid

Cachées au milieu des herbes hautes, se trouvait l'orchis à 2 feuilles (Platanthera bifolia).

Hidden in the middle of tall grasses, was the lesser butterfly orchid (Platanthera bifolia).

Les anthères parallèles confirment que c'est bien P. bifolia et non pas P. chlorantha.

The parallel pollinia confirm that it's P. bifolia. and not P. chlorantha.
